It is a A message from your host: As this was the 100th episode I thought I would do something a little different. I will give you a loose history of my life and how it lead to the creation of UTKM and where it is at today. It is a loose history as it is a story from memory as well as an attempt to keep certain details specifically vague for privacy or legal reasons. The purpose of this episode aside from a general history is also to help those who struggle running their own martial arts schools to know that you are not alone in dealing with the trials and tribulations of running a martial arts school. It can be emotionally, physically, mentally, and sometimes financially draining whether it’s successful or not. I want you to know that it is also ok to talk with others about your struggles both mentally, financially, or even socially (though you don’t have to do it quite as publicly as me). This industry is not for everyone and can leave many feeling alone and isolated yet know that it is also a very rewarding industry to be in even if you only have a handful of students. It also helps you to get to know Jonathan a little more if you didn’t already know enough.
