Rory Van Vliet is a BJJ Black belt and instructor under Island Top Team Professor Rob Biernacki (Previously on Episode 47). He can be regularly seen in Bjjconcepts.net online instructional and his BJJ Youtube Channel RVV BJJ. They are known for the Conceptual based approach to teaching rather than just the technical approach a style that is rapidly becoming popular as it produces phenomenal results. Rory is also a Corrections officer in Canada and has experience in the use of force and security, particularly in the Health Sector. As a result of this Rory recently created an online training program for nurses called Health Care Control Strategies and Self Defense, so they can better protect themselves and patients should things get violent. In this episode, we talk use of force and policing which was appropriate given it was the day the Derek Chauvin trial results were announced. As well as the conceptual approach to teaching compared to traditional styles, his nursing self-defense program and more.
