In the world of BJJ much attention is given to the competitive black belt. In fact in martial arts so much attention is given to the top competitors. However, the reality is the majority of people who train martial arts are doing it for noncompetitive reasons. Enter the casual Black Belt. Todd Deane-Freeman is one such individual who attained his black belt after many years training under Don Whitefield. Todd roomed with Jonathan Fader during the 2015 West Coast BJJ Winter camp with Lucas Lepri in beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii.
