At UTKM it is very much believed that self defense is not just physical and too often we can focus too much on the groin strikes and throat punches that good self defense is very much about balance which includes both the internal and external aspects. Several years ago UTKM adopted and slightly modified the Colour code developed by Lt. Col. Jeff Cooper and it has been an integral part of our Self Defense and Krav Maga approach ever since. One must understand its application to literal self defense, to personal mental health and Mindfulness as well as how it connects to our nervous system and its various reactions. Understanding this is key to a happy and healthy life and one where you have truly learned to walk in peace.
